BioImpact +: A Catalyst for Sustainable Development and Biodiversity

BioImpact+, a project by APREN – the Portuguese Association of Renewable Energies, in partnership with BE, aims to raise awareness on how the renewable energy sector, particularly photovoltaic solar power plants, can positively impact biodiversity and local development.

By engaging with local communities and incorporating biodiversity-positive actions into solar power project design, BE and APREN hope to identify and highlight the opportunities that the solar power plants may provide for biodiversity preservation and inspire the creation of more sustainable and socially accepted renewable energy initiatives.

Collaborative Sessions on the promotion of biodiversity will be held, aimed at local stakeholders and supported by the strategic, socioeconomic, and ecological context of the territory.

The knowledge generated throughout the Collaborative Sessions will be incorporated into the  Solar Power Plant model that contributes to local sustainability, not only through the safeguarding and promotion of natural values such as biodiversity but also by considering people as active agents in this mission.
